Blacksburg, VA – Virginia Tech Men’s Lacrosse is proud to announce the appointment of Patrick Droney and Piers McGinn as Co-Head Coaches of the Division II team. Their combined expertise, leadership, and commitment to the program’s CULTURE will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Hokie Lacrosse at the Division II level.

Program Head Panchito Ojeda expressed excitement about the new leadership team:

“Patrick and Piers are both tremendous leaders who embody what Virginia Tech Lacrosse is all about—hard work, accountability, and brotherhood. Their ability to connect with players, push them to reach their potential, and keep the standard high makes them the perfect fit to lead our Division II team together.”

“It’s an honor to step into this role alongside Piers. Virginia Tech Lacrosse is built on CULTURE, and our Division II team has an incredible group of guys who are hungry to compete. I’m excited to help them grow both as players and as people.”

Piers McGinn, who has been instrumental in player development across the region, echoed those sentiments:

“I couldn’t be more excited to continue building with this group. Working side by side with Patrick, we want to make sure the DII team has every opportunity to succeed while staying true to the standard of Hokie Lacrosse. The future is bright.”
