ATLANTA – With two top-ranked teams falling already, Chapman was next on the docket, and the Panthers were quickly slotted into the first chair this week of the Under Armour MCLA Coaches Poll in Division I. It was a close call however, with Georgia Tech just two points behind.
Both squads posted 12 first-place votes, but Chapman’s extra two points were enough to push the Panthers past the Yellow Jackets. Colorado, the No. 1 team for the past two weeks, still managed to grab a pair of first-place votes to keep them third.

Brigham Young used a first-place vote of its own to bump up to No. 4, just ahead of a surging Cal Poly outfit in fifth. Grand Canyon, the defending champions who opened the season on top, grabbed the final top vote and settled into seventh behind Virginia Tech.
UC Santa Barbara was the only new addition to the club, as they bounced Simon Fraser out of the Top 25.
