ATLANTA – Concordia-Irvine hammered St. John’s and North Dakota State in their own domes over the weekend and the Eagles have been rewarded with the No. 2 position in the latest Under Armour MCLA Division II Coaches Poll.
The Tuesday night game between No. 1 St. Thomas and the Concordia, won by the Tommies, 16-12, was not factored into this poll.
St. Thomas grabbed 18 first place votes while Concordia took the four others.
Grand Valley State, which will open its season in earnest this week with three ranked games, was downgraded to No. 3 to make room for Concordia. The Lakers were followed by St. John’s and North Dakota in the Top 5.
La.-Lafayette was bounced from the poll this week to make way for the College of Idaho, which enters at the No. 25 slot.
