AUSTIN, Texas – Texas A&M coach Tony Scazzero, in his 39th season as leader of the Aggies, has been named the Lone Star Alliance Division I Coach of the Year, leading this year’s conference award winners, which were released on Saturday.
Scazzero has led Texas A&M to a 9-3 record so far this spring, earning a spot in the LSA-I semifinals.
Aggies junior attackman A.J. Hepting was named LSA Most Valuable Player while A&M freshman midfielder Gavin Planeta was tabbed conference Rookie of the Year.
Oklahoma took home two annual awards with junior goaltender Nick Johnston being named Co-Defensive Player of the Year and senior attackman Eddy Arnold earning Offensive Player of the Year.
Southern Methodist’s Cole Ogden was named Co-Defensive Player of the Year along with Johnston.
