DENVER – Montana State and Colorado Denver are the top seeds at the 2018 Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference (RMLC) Division II Tournament, which will take place this weekend on the campus of Utah Valley University.

Montana State (10-2, 3-0) was the top team out of the Northwest division and the Bobcats will face the second seed out of the Southeast division, MSU Denver (5-9, 2-1), at 10 a.m. on Friday.

The two squared off on April 7 in Golden, Colo., with Montana State taking a narrow, 11-10 victory thanks to four goals and two dimes from Aaron Madigan.

In the second semifinal at 1 p.m. No. 1SE Colorado Denver (8-2, 3-0) clashes with No. 2NW Colorado Mines (6-2, 2-1).

This is a rematch of a March 22 contest won by the Lynx, 14-10, thanks to four goals and four assists from Beau Ecksten.

The winner of Saturday’s championship game will earn an automatic qualifying bid to the 2018 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour, which will be held in Salt Lake City from May 7-12.

“RMLC Division II is getting better with each passing season and this weekend’s tournament will illustrate that,” said RMLC director John Robinette. “All four of these teams could be standing at the end.”

Admission to the RMLC Division I Tournament will be $8 for all day Friday and $10 for all day Saturday. Student and group discounts are available and food trucks will be present at the event.

Prodigy Media and Lacrosse Talk Radio will cover the game for those fans who can't make the event.
