ATLANTA – Michigan State raced out to a 2-0 start to the season, cementing its place atop the first installment of the Under Armour MCLA Division I Weekly Coaches Poll for the period ending Feb. 17.

Locked in a tie with Chapman (1-1) in the preseason poll, the Spartans (2-0) are alone at the top of the charts, garnering 18 of the 22 first place votes available.

Cal-Berkeley (4-0), which defeated Chapman, bumped up six spots from the preseason poll to sit in the second chair with three first-place votes. South Carolina (3-0) grabbed the last first place vote, helping it into the No. 3 hole.

Chapman and Concordia-Irvine (2-0) round out the Top 5.
