ATLANTA – After knocking off the former top team and defending champion on its own field, Minn.-Duluth has assumed the No. 1 ranking in the Under Armour MCLA Division II Weekly Coaches Poll for the period ending Feb. 17
The Bulldogs (1-0) defeated former top gun North Dakota State (2-2) – currently ranked No. 3 – in Fargo, 13-11.
St. Thomas (0-0), which begins its season this Saturday against the third-ranked Bison, remain in the second spot.
St. John’s (1-0) and Grand Valley State (0-0) are in the fourth and fifth spots, respectively, but are separated by just two points.
The Upper Midwest Lacrosse Conference (UMLC) keeps its stranglehold on the poll, owning the top five spots. Kennesaw (5-0) is the first non-UMLC ranked in the poll at No. 6.
