WCLL Releases D-I Award Winners

SAN FRANCISCO – California sophomore Brendan Cook was named the Western Collegiate Lacrosse League Division I Offensive Player of the Year, leading a contingent of Golden Bear players on the all-conference teams.

Cook, who was also a first team all-league selection, was one of seven Cal players on the 13-man first team and one of 10 Bears who received recognition.

Cal Poly junior defenseman Jack Tunney was tabbed the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year and was one of three Mustang players on the first team.

After leading Stanford back into the Top 25 for much of the season and finishing with a 9-4 record, Cardinal coach Paul Jepsen was named the Coach of the Year.
