STATESBORO, Ga. – Piggybacking off a football rivalry that dates to the 1930s, the Georgia Southern and Appalachian State men’s lacrosse team will turn their annual meeting into a trophy game.
The trophy, which is a helmet with both programs’ decal created by Headwrapz, will be presented annually to the victor and reside at the winning team’s institution until the following year.
The idea for the trophy came from Georgia Southern coach Christopher Lowe, club president Chipper Smith and vice president Nick Alo.
The Eagles and Mountaineers will square off on April 3 this spring at Georgia Southern with game time slated for 7 p.m.
