STATESBORO, Ga. -- This coming season Georgia Southern Lacrosse will be honoring the Iroquois Nation and the Georgia Cherokee tribe.
The 2021 season is dedicated to all those who introduced the world to The Creators Game.
Georgia Southern plans on flying the Iroquois Nation flag at all home games and the players will wear LaxStrap’s with the seal of the Georgia Cherokee on its helmets. The coaches will wear the Iroquois flag patch on their staff polos.
The idea for all of this came about after the World Games failed to invite the Iroquois National team and realizing that many young players don’t know that much about the history of lacrosse.
