ATLANTA – After leading St. Thomas to a stunning win over a Top 10 Division I squad, junior middie Jack Stone has been named the Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 4.
Stone, a transfer from NCAA Division II Lewis (Ill.) University, buried a hat trick in his first-ever game for the Tommies as they upended Minnesota – ranked No. 8 in the New Balance D-I Preseason Coaches Poll.
The Eagan, Minn., product also dished out an assist for the four-point afternoon.
“Stone is an old school, two-way middie whose athleticism took over the game when things got tough against the Gophers,” said St. Thomas coach Jason King. “He was scooping up ground balls on the faceoff wings, playing great defense and adding a second half hat trick.
“Stone was all over the field for us when we needed it most. The sky is the limit for him this season.”
For earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Stone will receive a Warrior EVO QX-O – a $100 value – for his efforts. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
