COCOA BEACH, Fla. -- Each week, coaches in the SELC submit their nominations to the SELC awards committee for an Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week. Below are the SELC Division I Players of the Week for games played March 6-12:
Division I
Offensive Player of the Week
Will Sackman, Florida State - Senior, Attack
Sackman picked up two groundballs while contributing five goals and three assists in a win over South Florida on Friday night. Picking up where he left off on Sunday, Sackman also tallied three goals and one assist with two caused turnovers against Colorado State, helping the Noles sweep the weekend.
Defensive Player of the Week
Charlie King, South Carolina - Junior, Long Stick Midfielder
Despite the Gamecocks not finding a win this past weekend in California, King shined on the field for South Carolina. Over the course of the three games played on the west coast, King would account for a total of 16 groundballs, 15 takeaways and one goal.
