UCSB Wins WCLL-I Title

LOS GATOS, Calif. – After taking down the two top seeds, including a dominant 11-5 victory over Cal Poly on Sunday, UC Santa Barbara is the 2023 Western Collegiate Lacrosse League (WCLL) Division I champion.
With the victory, UC Santa Barbara (9-5) earns an automatic qualifying berth to the 2023 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance, which will take place from May 8-13 at the Round Rock (Texas) Multipurpose Complex. Tickets and live streaming for nationals can be purchased HERE.
The Gauchos took control from the start, taking a 7-1 lead at halftime before trading goals with Cal Poly (8-6) in the second half.
UCSB will be making its first trip to nationals since 2016, when the Gauchos were members of the SLC.
