ATLANTA- St. Thomas freshman Aiden Losinski and Utah Valley senior Patrick Thomas have been named MCLA PEARL Goalies of the Week following their performances in net for the top ranked teams in each division.

In a much ballyhooed match up against Montana Losinski backstopped the top-ranked Tommies’ defense and recorded 10 saves while allowing three goals and collecting two ground balls.  Losinski was integral in the Tommies’ win over the fourth ranked Grizzlies.

St. Thomas goalie coach Austin Dover said, “Aiden has worked hard this spring to contribute immediately and when given opportunities, he’s come up big for us. Against Montana he was exactly that, making great saves and clearing efficiently. It’s exciting to watch him play and continue to see his game grow.”

Utah Valley took a trip to the West Coast to play UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly.  Thomas totaled 38 saves while allowing 18 goals across the two games.  The senior also collected eight ground balls and caused two turnovers.

Utah Valley head coach Colin Maxfield said, “Pat was consistently outstanding throughout our two game California road trip. Made all the saves he should have, and had some massive timely "steals" that kept our momentum rolling late in both games. In addition to what he did in cage Pat showcased his skill in the GB game, jumping out of cage forcing turnovers, and leading the transition game with pin-point outlets.”

For their performances Thomas and Losinski will receive PEARL swag bags including PEARL balls the official ball of the MCLA.
